Activities/modalities:

I incorporate arts, crafts, games (both cooperative and competitive), role plays, discussion, videos, books, and movement to engage, connect, and teach children and adolescents.

In  my work, I aim to provide a warm and accepting environment in which children and adolescents  can feel understood and supported.  Working from a strengths-based perspective, I use a variety of approaches.  This includes play-based therapy, bibliotherapy, expressive therapy (art, writing, puppet play, etc.), and psycho-education about topics relevant to the children.  I incorporate mindfulness aspects and aspects of Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), an evidence based approach.  My hope is to normalize and validate the struggles that our children our facing and teach them effective skills to navigate their feelings and challenges in their life and gain resiliency.
